What to prepare before sourcing an interior project from China

The drawings, decisions and local responsibilities that should be clear before asking factories for meaningful quotations.

A factory quotation is only useful when the product is defined. Before sourcing begins, a project should have a confirmed layout, key dimensions, target materials, quantities, budget logic and a named local team.

Five inputs that change quotation quality

  1. A stable plan and room list. Factories cannot resolve a constantly moving design.
  2. Product-level dimensions and finish intent. A reference image alone is not a specification.
  3. A sample and approval method. Decide who approves colour, texture and first articles.
  4. A local responsibility map. Measurement, permits, import clearance and installation need named owners.
  5. A realistic consolidation plan. Multiple factories require version, packaging and room-labelling control.

HN uses the design stage to make those inputs explicit before factory comparison begins.
